Final Rally in support of proposed Assisted Suicide Bill

Assisted Suicide

The Humanist Society of Scotland have organised a ‘Final Rally’ for this coming Wednesday, 27th May, in support of the proposed Assisted Suicide Bill.

Edinburgh Secular Society does not have an official stance regarding assisted suicide as we considered it not to be a wholly secular issue.  However, it is acknowledged that many secularists do support the proposed bill and as such details of the rally are posted here for their information.

“The Assisted Suicide (Scotland) Bill will be debated in the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 27th May.

This is a major milestone, and it’s essential that we have a good turnout of supporters to show our support for the Bill. The Stage 1 debate is a debate on the general principles of the Bill, after which it will pass to Stage 2 to receive detailed scrutiny.

If you haven’t done so already please use our online tool to write to your MSPs:

The final debate will take place around 5pm, and we will be assembling to show our support around 1.45pm. If you’ve never attended a rally before, it couldn’t be easier – just turn up!”
