Debate: Philosophy in the Classroom

Philosophy in Classroom

As part of the Just Festival there is an interesting debate entitled ‘Philosophy in the classroom: Promoting thinking in Scottish schools’.

Dr Claire Cassidy will advance the arguments for having philosophy taught in school, as an alternative to Religious Observance. Claire is a senior lecturer and Depute Head of The School of Education at The University of Strathclyde. Claire will be joined by a local Edinburgh teacher and the event will be chaired by Humanist Society Scotland chief executive Gordon MacRae.
